客戶送驗了一顆有趣的寶石，外觀與天然藍寶石相仿，顏色濃豔且均勻無色帶，淨度很高，全無天然礦物、負晶、指紋狀內含物等。經過台灣聯合鑑定中心三位GIA鑑定師檢驗，發現具有擴散處理的特徵-稜線顏色集中，進一步採用偏光顯微鏡觀察又發現了合成剛玉的弧形線條特徵，本所認為這是一種相對罕見的高仿藍寶石-「二度燒合成無色剛玉」。其特色是火熔法生長特徵-弧形線條很難直接觀察，且顏色與亮光表現自然，類似天然藍寶石。生意越難做，怪東西越多，消費者不得不防。想買藍寶不受騙，記得讀兩遍「實用寶石學」！不然也可以報名台灣聯合珠寶玉石鑑定中心的寶石課程呦！
An interesting blue faceted stone is sent to TULAB which looks like natural sapphire with intense blue color and internally flawless in clarity without natural inclusions. After a complete examination by TULAB gemologist, we found the blue color is concentrated on the facet edge; it is a feature for diffused sapphire. In the mean time, curved striation is seen under polarized light which represents flame-fusion synthetic corundum. This is a new type of imitation for natural sapphire that looks like natural sapphire but difficult to identify.
